Permanent Aircraft Hangars

Mahaffey's Mega Series and Tension Series (MTS) permanent aircraft structures serve as permanent hangar facilities.  These structures meet and exceed all requirements of the International Building Code (IBC), which gives them the additional flexibility of being in use for long periods of time.

Because the structure is 100% recyclable, it can be taken down and transported to a different location and re-erected without the need for any additional components.  Quite simply, this structure system allows for greater flexibility for the owner who can relocate the structure to a different airport or even sell the structure after its use.

Door Options

Bi-Fold

Available in lightweight or cost-effective steel, vertical Bi-fold doors have been the preferred choice in the aircraft industry for many years.  The Bi-fold door elevates within the threshold and requires little or no headroom or wall clearance, leaving more usable space, both inside and out.  And best of all, you can achieve any look with this style door, because you can clad it with any covering you want.

Sliding

For wide openings where cost is crucial, sliding doors are the logical choice.  The bottom-rolling design is specified for openings of 33' - 164' widths.  Choose from single-directional, bi-parting, tail, or floating group styles to accommodate space constraints and other requirements.  The Sliding door has an effective full-perimeter seal, which keeps it weather tight and energy-efficient.

Xtension

The Xtension is a retractable hangar door operated by an electrical winch system.  It provides a unique solution for hangar doors when used on the Mahaffey Tension Series (MTS) structure.  It provides access across the full width of the hangar and is available for use in aluminum buildings in widths of 50' - 164'.
